United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malalah has claimed that Azimio sent leaders to meet President William Ruto to negotiate a handshake. Malalah said Azimio rallies are a way of asking for a handshake.
“What Azimio is doing is a way to seek a handshake with Ruto. Up until yesterday evening they were sending people to see if they could have a talk with our President.” “We want to tell Azimio, don’t contemplate or entertain the idea that you can have a handshake with Ruto,” he said.
Malalah said the only handshake Ruto will have is with Kenyan citizens and not Raila. The UDA secretary said Azimio leader Raila Odinga should approach him first if he wants a handshake.
“ If he wants a hand-shake, let him first come and meet with me. Our President is very busy working on how he will make life affordable to Kenyans. He has no time and resources to waste,” he said.
The SG, however, maintained there is no possibility of a handshake with the President. The President has recently claimed Raila’s political rallies are aimed at putting him under pressure to accept a handshake with Azimio.
