Police in Migori County are pursuing a bar owner linked to the death of a 52-year-old man who was reportedly killed and body dumped near Nyabikongori village in Kuria East Sub County on Tuesday morning.
Migori County Police Commander Mark Wanjala confirmed the incident saying that the body of thdeceased, identified as Paul Monanga was found deserted near a bar where he was allegedly killed.
“The bloodstains indicate that the deceased was allegedly killed inside the bar and body dumped outside,” Wanjala explained.
The police boss said that the bar owner who has been linked to the murder escaped after angry residents threatened to lynch him and have since gone to a hideout.
Wanjala further stated that even though the cause of the murder is yet to be established, police officers have launched a manhunt for the suspected bar owner.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to Migori referral hospital mortuary pending police investigation and an autopsy.
